  • Garlic
  • Brown sugar

Steps To Make Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Step 1: Boil the noodles, then drain and set aside.

Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Make the famous takeout Mongolian Beef Noodles at home with this easy recipe. Throw this together in fifteen minutes from start to finish. I'm sure you'll never order takeout again once you know how this is much quicker to make at home using just pantry staples!

Ingredients

  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 c. beef broth
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 10 ounces linguine
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 green onions sliced
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Pinch red pepper flake optional

Instructions
 

  1. Boil the pasta in a large pot of boiling water according to the package directions. Drain when done, and keep the pasta aside.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet on medium-high heat. As needed, drain the excess grease.
  3. Throw in the garlic and cook for a minute until aromatic.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce and beef broth. Add the brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ginger, red pepper flake, and black pepper. Stir well.
  5. Whisk the cornstarch in 2 tbsp cold water to make the slurry. Stir this into the ground beef and bring the mixture to a boil. Add the noodles once the sauce has thickened and toss to combine.
  6. Cook the noodles in the sauce for another 2 to 3 minutes to absorb some flavor. Before serving, top with some green onions.

How To Make it Gluten-free:
Use Tamari or gluten-free Hoisin sauce.
Substitute linguine with gluten-free rice noodles.
