What You Need To Make These Crockpot BBQ Chicken Wings

- Coke
- BBQ Sauce
To make this recipe gluten-free (you should use this ingredient instead):
- Use gluten-free barbecue sauce or homemade.
Steps To Make Crockpot BBQ Chicken Wings
This recipe does not require you to thaw the chicken wings. They have thin meat so they thaw and cook at the same time. To get rid of a few ice crystals, clean the chicken first.
Step 1: In a big colander, place the chicken. Station it in the sink to rinse with slow-running water to rid of any ice crystals.
Step 2: In the crockpot, place the frozen wings. Pour in the cola, making sure the chicken is barely submerged. Cook the wings in the coke for 3 to 4 hours on low. The mixture of the juices of the chicken and cola will yield a tender juicy deliciousness in the BBQ wings.
BBQ Sauce:
Step 3: After cooking the chicken in the cola, drain the chicken wings well in a colander.
Step 4: At this point, the chicken wings are very tender and can easily fall apart so do not use tongs to remove them from the slow cooker. Very carefully take them out using a slotted spoon, allowing the juice to drip back into the pot.
Step 5: In rows, in a single layer, line the chicken wings on a large baking sheet covered with foil and greased with cooking spray. Brush the chicken wings with your favorite barbecue sauce. Bake the wings for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Then, broil to give the chicken wings a little char on the skin.
