- 1 14.75 oz can of canned salmon
- ½ c seasoned dry bread crumbs
- ¼ c chopped onion
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Start by opening the can of salmon and pouring the liquid into a bowl keeping it aside for later. Transfer the drained salmon to a mixing bowl.
- To the salmon add breadcrumbs chopped onion and an egg. Mix all the ingredients together until they are thoroughly combined.
- Take portions of the mixture. Shape them into patties. If the mixture seems dry and crumbly you can moisten it slightly by adding a little of the reserved salmon liquid until it holds its shape.
- In a skillet heat some olive oil over medium heat making sure it's adequately hot, before adding the patties.
- Carefully place the patties in the skillet. Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes, on each side until they turn golden brown and are fully cooked.
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet. Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any oil. Once they have drained well they are ready to be served.
