What You Need To Make This Hawaiian-Style Garlic Shrimp Recipe:

Raw Shrimp: Use extra large size approximately 21 to 30 counts per pound. Peel and devein the shrimps unless you prefer to leave the shells on.

Unsalted Butter: You can use salted butter if desired and do not over-season the shrimps.

Olive Oil: You can swap it with regular or extra virgin oil if needed.

Garlic: I used a medium size head of garlic.

All-purpose flour: This makes the buttery sauce stick to the shrimp.

Paprika: Use standard sweet paprika as smoked may overpower the garlic flavor.

Cayenne pepper: It adds a light kick to the dish. Add more if you prefer it spicier or omit it if you do not like heat.

Lemon juice: Fresh lemons provide the best results.

Parsley: Optional. This adds an enticing finish and mild flavor to the dish.

Salt and Pepper

To make this recipe gluten-free (you should use this ingredient instead):

  • Use cornstarch or Potato starch in place of all-purpose flour.
