You know those meals that just hit the spot no matter what kind of day you’ve had? The ones that fill your kitchen with the kind of aroma that makes people hover around, sneaking bites before dinner’s even served? That’s exactly what this Chicken Bubble Biscuit Bake Casserole does.

The first time I made this, I was desperately digging through my fridge trying to figure out dinner. I had leftover chicken, a can of biscuits, and my go-to comfort food staples—cheese and Ranch dressing mix. So, I did what any hungry, slightly frantic home cook would do: I threw it all together, popped it in the oven, and hoped for the best.

And guess what? It was love at first bite. The biscuits puffed up into buttery, golden pillows, the cheese melted into creamy perfection, and every forkful was a dreamy mix of comfort food greatness. Now, it’s a family favorite, and I can’t wait for you to try it too!

Ingredient Notes:

What You’ll Need & Why It Works

  • Cooked Chicken (3 cups) – Rotisserie chicken works wonders, but canned chicken or leftovers? Totally fair game.
  • Cream of Chicken Soup (2 cans) – This gives it that ultra-creamy, cozy texture.
  • Sour Cream (1½ cups) – A little tang to balance out all the richness.
  • Cheese (1 cup in the mix + 1 cup on top) – Because more cheese is always a good idea.
  • Ranch Dressing Mix (2 tbsp) – A little packet of magic. You could skip it, but why would you?
  • Cooked Bacon (¼ cup, chopped) – Smoky, crispy, and completely necessary.
  • Grands Jr Biscuits (12 oz can) – These little guys puff up into golden, buttery bites of heaven.

How To Make Chicken Bubble Biscuit Bake Casserole?

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Mix Up the Creamy Goodness

In a large mixing bowl, combine chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of cheese, Ranch dressing mix, and bacon. Stir it all together until it looks thick and delicious.

Step 3: Add the Biscuits

Take your Grands Jr Biscuits and cut them into quarters. Gently fold them into the creamy mixture, making sure every piece is coated. This is the key to getting those fluffy, golden biscuit pockets in every bite.

Step 4: Assemble & Bake

Pour the biscuit-chicken mixture into your greased baking dish and spread it out evenly. Top it with the remaining 1 cup of cheese for an extra cheesy finish.

What to Serve with Chicken Bubble Biscuit Bake Casserole?

This dish is super satisfying on its own, but if you’re looking to round out your meal, here are some perfect sides:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I use a different type of biscuit?
Yep! If you can’t find Grands Jr Biscuits, just use any refrigerated biscuit dough and cut them into small pieces.

Can I make this ahead of time?
Absolutely! Assemble everything, cover it tightly, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.

What’s the best cheese to use?
Cheddar is classic, but a mozzarella-cheddar mix gives it the best melty texture. Want a little spice? Pepper Jack is amazing too!
