- 2/3 c granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
TOPPING:
- 2 c all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 c butter melted
- Ice cream & caramel sauce if desired for topping
Instructions
- Start by peeling, coring and slicing 6 to 8 apples into 1/4-inch wedges, which should amount to 9 cups.
- In a bowl combine the apples with a mixture of 2/3 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Spread this combination evenly in a baking dish measuring 13x9 inches.
- In another bowl mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 cups of sugar 2 beaten eggs, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 3/4 teaspoon of salt. This will create a crumbly mixture, for topping.
- Sprinkle the flour mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish. Drizzle melted butter (2/3 cup) on top. Bake the concoction at a temperature of around 350°F for 45 to 55 minutes or until it turns beautifully golden brown.
