What You Need To Make This French Dip Sliders Recipe?
Unsalted Butter: Although this recipe calls for unsalted butter to allow for control of the seasoning if you’re, in a bind you can use salted butter. Just remember to be mindful of the saltiness and adjust the amount of salt accordingly.
Onion: A medium-sized onion adds a sweetness when caramelized. For a deeper flavor, you might want to try using a red onion.
Thyme: Fresh thyme gives an aromatic touch. However, if it’s not available dried thyme can be used instead. Usually, one-third of the amount is equivalent.
Provolone Cheese: If possible go for provolone as it offers a taste. Feel free to substitute it with Swiss or mozzarella if you prefer a cheese profile.
Deli Roast Beef: While the recipe specifically mentions deli roast beef you can also experiment with sliced deli meats. If you’re watching your sodium intake opting for a low sodium variant would be a great choice.
Sweet Rolls: These provide a sweetness that complements the beef. If sweet rolls are not your preference or unavailable any soft slider buns or mini sandwich rolls will work fine.
Dried Onion Soup Mix & Au Jus Gravy Mix: You can typically find Dried Onion Soup Mix & Au Jus Gravy Mix, in the soup or seasoning aisle of grocery stores. They enhance the sliders and dipping sauce by adding depth and richness. If you’re concerned about your sodium intake consider searching for reduced sodium options.
Parsley: Adding parsley is optional. Can provide a contrast, to the savory flavors. Alternatively, you could use chopped chives or green onions as a garnish if you want to add a twist.
Steps To Make French Dip Sliders:
Step 1: Let’s start by heating up a skillet, over medium heat. Once it’s nice and hot melt the butter until it has a golden shine.
Step 2: Next, add in the onions. Let them cook in the butter. Stir them gently from time to time for 12 to 15 minutes. We want them to be soft and lightly browned. Be careful not to let them burn.
Step 3: As the wonderful aroma fills the room sprinkle in some thyme, salt, and pepper. Give everything a mix. Then set it aside so that all those flavors can blend together.

Step 5: Onto the rolls; don’t separate them. Instead, slice them in half. Take the halves. Place them in an 11×7 baking dish.
Step 6: Time to start layering! Begin with a layer of cheese followed by roast beef and then sautéed onions. Finish it off with another layer of cheese. Finally, place the halves of the rolls on as well.
Step 7: In a bowl whisk together some melted butter and onion soup mix. Here’s a little tip; brush this mixture, over the rolls so that every nook and cranny gets coated with love.
Step 8: Gently cover everything with foil making sure not to smother those rolls. Pop them into the oven for 25 minutes.
Step 9: Once the timer goes off remove the cover. Allow them to bake for 5 minutes until they acquire that delightful golden color!
Step 10: While they are baking, prepare the au jus according to the instructions, on the package using water.
Step 11: Present them with pride optionally garnishing with parsley and remember to serve the au jus, on the side. Each dip will burst with flavors.
Tip:
When assembling your sliders try to overlap the slices of roast beef instead of simply placing them flat. This will give each slider a texture and guarantee that every bite delivers a delightful blend of beef, cheese, and onion enhancing the overall enjoyment of flavors and mouthfeel. Additionally overlapping the ingredients helps to secure everything in place during baking.
