1 lb lean ground beef

½ c finely chopped onion

15 oz. sloppy joe sauce or 1 batch homemade sauce

6 pieces frozen Texas toast

1 c mozzarella cheese


Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F.

In a skillet cook 1 pound of ground beef along, with half a cup of chopped onion until browned. Remove any fat.

Add 15 ounces of joe sauce to the beef and let it simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes.

While the sauce is simmering, place 6 slices of frozen Texas toast, on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.

Once the Texas toast is toasted, spread the joe mixture evenly on top of each slice. Sprinkle one cup of mozzarella cheese over the mixture.

Return the baking sheet to the oven. Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted and turned golden brown.
