- 1/4 lb mild Italian sausage hot can also be used
- 1/2 green bell pepper sliced into roughly 1-inch long pieces
- 1/2 yellow onion sliced into roughly 1-inch long pieces
- 1 lb frozen pizza dough thawed
- 1/2 c pizza sauce
- 1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese
- 10 large slices pepperoni
- 6 slices Genoa salami
- 6 slices hot capicola ham
- 4 oz very thinly sliced mushrooms uncooked
- 1/4 c sliced green olives
- pinch red pepper flakes
- 1 egg + splash of water beaten
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1/4 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil. And spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
- Brown the sausage in a skillet, then set aside. Cook the bell pepper and onion. In the same skillet for 3 minutes.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a 10x15" rectangle. Spread pizza sauce, leaving a 1.5” border. Add half the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Then layer with pepperoni, salami, capicola, mushrooms, sausage, onion, pepper, and olives. Top with remaining cheeses.
- Beat the egg with water, and brush over the dough edges.
- Roll up the dough into a log. Pinch sides to seal. If sticky, dust hands with flour.
- Transfer to the baking sheet. Brush with remaining egg wash. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Cut 2-inch slits on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until the center is 200°F. Let rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice. And serve with extra sauce.
