This Crockpot Christmas Crack is made with peanuts, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and almond bark—slow-cooked into a rich, sweet, and salty holiday treat!
You know how every holiday season, there’s that one treat you can’t stop eating? The one you keep sneaking from the kitchen, telling yourself, Okay, just one more piece… only to go back five minutes later?
Yeah. That’s this recipe.
The first time I made Crockpot Christmas Crack, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I’d seen it pop up in my feed for years, but I always brushed it off—homemade candy in a slow cooker? Yeah, sure. But one particularly chaotic December, with cookies burning in the oven and my counters covered in sprinkles, I caved.
I dumped the ingredients into my slow cooker, crossed my fingers, and walked away. No stirring, no checking, nothing. An hour and a half later, I came back, stirred it all together, and spooned little clusters onto
It was chocolatey, peanutty, salty, sweet—literally everything good in one bite. And from that moment on, I knew. This wasn’t just a holiday treat. It was the holiday treat.
Now, I make a batch (or three) every year. And fair warning: if you make it once, you will be making it every Christmas from now on.
Why You’ll Love This Crockpot Christmas Crack Recipe?
- Effortless (But Looks Impressive!) – Throw everything in a slow cooker, let it melt, stir, and scoop. That’s it.
- Sweet & Salty Perfection – Crunchy peanuts meet creamy chocolate in a match made in snack heaven.
- Big Batch = More to Share (Or Not) – Makes 60 pieces, perfect for gifts or just eating by the handful.
- Foolproof – Seriously, you cannot mess this up. Even if you forget about it for a while (guilty), it still turns out amazing.
Ingredient Notes:
At first glance, the ingredients might seem simple, but each one plays a key role in making this Crockpot Christmas Crack totally addictive.
- Peanuts (Salted & Unsalted) – The salted ones bring that sweet-salty contrast, while the unsalted balance it out.
- Semi-Sweet & Milk Chocolate Chips – Semi-sweet adds richness, milk chocolate keeps it creamy and smooth.
- Peanut Butter Chips – Melt into the mix for a subtle peanut butter flavor (without overpowering the chocolate).
- White Almond Bark (or Vanilla Candy Coating) – The secret ingredient! Helps the chocolate set properly so the candy holds its shape.
How To Make Crockpot Christmas Crack?
Step 1: Layer the Ingredients
Grab your slow cooker and start layering. Peanuts go in first—unsalted at the bottom, salted on top. Then, pour in semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips, followed by peanut butter chips. Finally, break apart the almond bark and add it last.
Step 2: Let It Melt (Hands Off!)
Cover the slow cooker with the lid and set it to low heat. Here’s the key: don’t stir yet! Let everything melt together for 1 hour and 30 minutes without touching it.
Step 3: Stir & Finish Cooking
After the first cook time, give it a good stir to start mixing everything. Cover again and let it cook for 30 more minutes.

What to Serve with Crockpot Christmas Crack?
This treat is dangerously good on its own, but if you want to make it part of a spread, try pairing it with:
- Hot Cocoa – A double dose of chocolate? No regrets.
- Coffee or Espresso – The bitterness balances out the sweetness beautifully.
- Cheese Board – Sounds weird, but trust me—pair it with sharp cheddar for a crazy-good flavor combo.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use a different kind of chocolate?
Absolutely! Try dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor or go all milk chocolate for extra sweetness.
Why isn’t my Christmas Crack setting?
Make sure you used almond bark or candy coating—that’s what helps it firm up! If it’s still too soft, pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Can I make this on the stovetop?
Yep! Just melt the chocolates, peanut butter chips, and almond bark in a double boiler, then stir in the peanuts and portion them out.
