This healthy birthday cake protein smoothie is a delicious treat that allows you to celebrate your birthday any day of the year, without the calories and without the guilt!
With my birthday officially being a month away, I’m starting to get into the full swing of things and starting the celebration a little early. I figure if I have to keep adding numbers onto my age, then the least we can all do is extend the celebration little by little each year. I’m totally here for that.

I am all about finding the balance in life; enjoying that slice of birthday cake without any regrets, guilt, or following it up with a side of punishment-exercise.
But I’m also realistic, and I know myself pretty darn well. My body comes with a fully functioning sugar dragon. Which means the more dessert I eat, the more dessert I’m going to want.
And it’s a hard cycle for me to exit once that wheel of frosting starts turning.
So, a great way that I keep my sweet tooth satisfied without unleashing the nasty sugar-addict side of me that I try to keep hidden, is to find healthier hacks like this one.
Because it’s high in protein, this healthy birthday cake shake recipe is a great option to “indulge” with as often as you want, without those nasty follow-up cravings. The protein will help you feel fuller, longer, which is definitely a bonus.

Step 1: Healthy Birthday Cake Smoothie Ingredients
One great thing about this smoothie recipe is that you can honestly make so many variations of it to fit your mood and your craving.
Love chocolate? Make a chocolate smoothie.
Feeling like strawberries? Add them in and you’ll have a pretty-in-pink version (like the one pictured).
Love adding peanut butter to everything? Same. Add it.
Just keep in mind that if you’re tracking your calories or macros, adding or changing any of the ingredients will also change the nutrition info.

Step 2: Blend and Enjoy!
My absolute favorite part of making a good protein smoothie is that it’s easy. Not much in terms of prep time. They don’t require any cooking or baking – blending is over in less than 60 seconds, and clean-up is often a breeze.
So literally all you have to do is take your ingredients, throw them into a blender (this is the one I use), and then add your toppings. Bingo bango, that’s all there is to it.
Ingredients
- 1 scoop protein powder you can use vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc.
- 8 ounces unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- Ice
- Sprinkles to top
- Optional: whipped cream or dairy free whipped cream to top
Instructions
- Add almond milk, protein powder, and ice to blender
- Blend until you reach your desired consistency
- Top with sprinkles and enjoy!
