White Castle Stuffing Recipe

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
This White Castle Stuffing Recipe is a unique twist on a classic dish, made with White Castle burgers, celery, thyme, sage, black pepper, and chicken broth. It’s a flavorful, easy-to-make stuffing that works perfectly for Thanksgiving or any holiday meal.
8 Servings

Ingredients

  • 10 White Castle hamburgers without pickles
  • 1 ½ cups celery diced
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons ground thyme
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground sage
  • ¾ teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Burgers: Begin by removing the pickles from the White Castle hamburgers, if necessary. Tear each burger into small, bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Incorporate the Vegetables and Seasonings: Add the diced celery to the bowl with the burger pieces. Sprinkle the ground thyme, ground sage, and black pepper evenly over the mixture. Toss gently to ensure that the ingredients are well distributed.
  3. Moisten the Mixture: Gradually pour in the chicken broth while stirring to combine. The stuffing should be moist but not overly saturated. Ensure that the mixture holds together slightly when pressed.

Choose a Cooking Method:

  1. For Stuffing a Turkey: Transfer the mixture into the cavity of a turkey just before roasting. This recipe yields approximately 9 cups of stuffing, suitable for a 10- to 12-pound turkey.
  2. For Baking as a Casserole: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish and spread the stuffing mixture evenly. Cover with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes. For a crispier texture, remove the foil for the last 15 minutes of baking.

Notes

To make this stuffing gluten-free, replace the White Castle hamburgers with gluten-free slider buns and use a gluten-free ground beef mixture seasoned with onions. Ensure that the chicken broth is labeled gluten-free to avoid any cross-contamination. This will provide a similar taste and texture while accommodating dietary needs.
