A quick and flavorful noodle dish featuring ramen, garlic, butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, egg, and Everything Bagel seasoning for a savory-sweet twist.
1 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 package instant ramen preferably Korean-style such as Samyang or Nongshim; discard seasoning packet
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Everything Bagel seasoning or to taste
  • 1 scallion thinly sliced (optional garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Noodles:

  1. Begin by cooking the ramen noodles according to package instructions, omitting the seasoning packet. Once cooked, drain the noodles, reserving 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cooking water to prevent dryness. Set aside.

Prepare the Sauce:

  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for approximately 1 minute or until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Add Flavorings:

  1. Stir in the brown sugar and soy sauce, allowing the mixture to combine until the sugar is fully dissolved and the sauce becomes slightly glossy.

Combine Noodles with Sauce:

  1. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce until evenly coated.

Cook the Egg:

  1. Push the noodles to one side of the skillet to create space. Pour the lightly beaten egg into the empty area and scramble until fully cooked. Once set, mix the egg into the noodles.

Garnish and Serve:

  1. Transfer the prepared noodles to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with Everything Bagel seasoning and garnish with sliced scallions, if desired. Serve immediately.
