Ingredients

  • 1 c. 2 sticks butter
  • 2 15- ounce canned peaches drained
  • 2 8- oz. refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ c. cup sprite or citrus soda
  • vanilla ice cream for serving
  • 3 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9x13 baking dish well and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut the dough into triangles after opening it.
  3. Depending on size, place one or two peach slices at the broad end of the dough triangle. Dust with cinnamon sugar and roll the dough around the peach.
  4. After the dough is sealed, transfer the dumpling to the baking pan. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  5. In a large bowl, melt the two sticks of butter, then stir in the remaining cinnamon, white sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  6. Pour the butter mixture over the dumplings using a big spoon.
  7. So that the dumplings' exteriors don't get soggy, pour the Sprite around the dough but not on top.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the surface of the dough is just beginning to become golden brown.
  9. Top with vanilla ice cream and serve warm.

Notes

How To Make it Gluten free
Use refrigerated crescent roll dough that doesn't contain gluten. Bob's Red Mill and Pillsbury both produce gluten-free biscuit dough.
Vanilla ice cream and other single-flavor ice cream are often gluten-free but check for gluten-containing additives, flavoring, or starches before buying.
