4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 10 frozen lumpia store-bought or homemade
  • Cooking spray or 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for brushing
  • Dipping sauce of choice optional, such as sweet chili sauce, soy sauce with calamansi, or vinegar with garlic and chili flakes

Instructions

Preheat and Prepare the Lumpia

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Lightly coat the frozen lumpia with cooking spray or brush them with a small amount of oil. This step enhances crispiness and gives the lumpia a golden-brown appearance.

Arrange and Cook the Lumpia

  1. Place the lumpia in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. This allows proper air circulation for even cooking.
  2. Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook for 8 minutes. Carefully flip each lumpia over using tongs or a spatula to ensure uniform crispness.
  3. Continue cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the wrappers are golden brown and crispy. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the air fryer model and the thickness of the lumpia.

Serve and Enjoy

  1. Remove the lumpia from the air fryer and allow them to cool for 2 minutes before serving, as the filling may be extremely hot.
  2. Serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauce, such as:
Sweet chili sauce – A balance of sweetness and mild heat.
Soy sauce with calamansi or lime – A tangy and savory combination.
Vinegar with garlic and chili flakes – A bold and slightly spicy option.

Notes

To make this recipe gluten-free, ensure the lumpia wrappers are made from rice paper or certified gluten-free spring roll wrappers. Additionally, verify that the dipping sauces used do not contain soy sauce with wheat or any gluten-based additives. Gluten-free soy sauce (tamari) or coconut aminos are excellent alternatives.
