½cupartichoke heartsdrained and finely chopped

Instructions
Prepare the filling
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the red pepper flakes if desired. Incorporate the cooked spinach and chopped artichoke hearts, stirring until the mixture is evenly blended. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
Assemble the sandwiches
Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place two slices on a clean surface, buttered side facing down. Distribute the spinach–artichoke mixture evenly across the unbuttered sides. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing upward.
Cook the sandwiches
Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the filling is hot and melted.
Serve
Remove from heat, slice each sandwich in half, and serve immediately while warm.
