Ingredients

First Layer:

  • 1 18 oz box yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 c butter no substitutes

Second Layer:

  • 4 c pecan halves

Third Layer:

  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c honey
  • 1 c butter
  • 1/4 c cream

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. And grease a 9x13-inch baking pan. To prevent sticking.
  2. In a mixing bowl. Cut the butter. Into the cake mix. Until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press this mixture evenly. Into the bottom of your greased pan. To form the crust.
  3. Spread the pecan halves evenly. Over the top of the crust layer. Ensuring the entire surface is covered.
  4. In a medium saucepan. Combine the brown sugar, white sugar, honey, and butter. Cook over medium heat. Stirring occasionally. Until the mixture. Begins to boil. Let it boil. For about 3 minutes. To thicken and caramelize.
  5. Remove the saucepan. From the heat. Stir in the cream. And mix until smooth.
  6. Carefully pour this hot caramel mixture. Over the pecan halves. Spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven. For 17-22 minutes. Or until the filling is bubbly. And the crust is golden brown.
  8. Allow the bars. To cool completely. In the pan. Before slicing them. Into squares for serving.

Notes
