  • 3 cups Vegetable Oil for frying

Glaze:

  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 ½ tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Extract
  • 1 ¾ cups Confectioners' Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan of medium size place the sugar, butter and milk over medium-high heat. Whisk them together until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Next add corn syrup and maple extract, to the mixture. Whisk everything thoroughly until well combined. Once done remove from heat.
  3. Take confectioners' sugar. Pour the melted sugar mixture over it. Use a whisk to blend everything together until smooth.
  4. Now in a skillet heat up 3 cups of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches a temperature between 340°F and 350°F (175°C to 180°C).
  5. Carefully separate each biscuit dough piece. Gently flatten them.
  6. Place two flattened biscuits at a time into the oil. Let them fry for about 1½ to 2 minutes per side. Keep an eye on them until they turn brown in color. Once fried place them on a paper towel to drain oil and allow them to cool completely.
