Ingredients

Crumb Topping:

  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Refined Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2/3 c All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 tbsp Chopped Almonds optional
  • 1/8 c Unsalted Butter melted

Donuts:

  • 1 c All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 c Light Brown Sugar packed
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 c Full-Fat Sour Cream
  • 3 tbsp Buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Butter melted
  • 1 Large Egg at room temperature

Vanilla Glaze:

  • 1/2 c Confectioners' Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp Whole Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with nonstick spray.
  2. To prepare the topping: Combine 1 tablespoon each of sugar and granulated sugar along with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and 2/3 cup of flour in a bowl. Mix in 1/8 cup of melted butter. Until the mixture becomes crumbly. Set this aside for use.
  3. For the donut batter. Whisk together in a bowl; 1 cup of flour 1/2 cup of light brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Add in 1/2 cup of cream 2 1/2 tablespoons of butter, one egg, and three tablespoons of buttermilk until just combined.
  4. Transfer the batter to a ziplock bag. Cut off one corner to pipe it into the donut pan. Top each with the crumb topping.
  5. Bake for around 10 to 11 minutes. Until they are lightly browned. If necessary gently clear any dough covering the hole using a knife.
  6. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for ten minutes before transferring them onto a cooling rack.
  7. Prepare the vanilla glaze. Mix half a cup of confectioners' sugar with half a tablespoon of milk and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle this glaze over the cooled donuts.
