Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground hot sausage such as Jimmy Dean or Bob Evans
  • 1 pound Velveeta
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic salt
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 loaf party rye bread
  • Chopped parsley fresh or dried, optional garnish

Instructions
 

  1. Cook and brown ground beef and sausage in a skillet.
  2. Add cubed Velveeta to the skillet and stir until melted.
  3. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, oregano, garlic salt, and salt.
  4. Preheat the broiler to high and line a baking sheet with rye bread slices.
  5. Scoop the meat mixture onto each bread slice.
  6. Broil for 2-3 minutes until bubbly or bake at 350°F for 15-18 minutes.
  7. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
