20 Servings

Ingredients

  • One 18.3-ounce package of Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix plus ingredients needed to prepare
  • 2 cups of marshmallows
  • 6 tablespoons of half-and-half
  • 6 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownie mix just like the package tells you to. Once those brownies come out of the oven, while they’re still nice and hot, spread the marshmallows evenly over the top. Now, pop the brownies back into the oven (that’s already turned off, by the way) and let the marshmallows puff up for about 2-3 minutes. Keep an eye on them so they don’t exaggerate it!
  2. While the marshmallows are doing their thing, grab a medium saucepan and combine the half-and-half, butter, and sugar. Bring it to a boil, but keep stirring to make sure nothing sticks or burns at the bottom. After about a minute, toss in the chocolate chips. Keep stirring until they’ve completely melted into a smooth, rich frosting. As soon as it’s ready, spread that delicious chocolate frosting all over the marshmallow-topped brownies.

Notes

Want to make these brownies gluten-free? No problem! Just swap out the boxed brownie mix for a gluten-free version. There are some great options out there that taste just as good as the regular ones. And, of course, double-check that your marshmallows and chocolate chips are gluten-free (most brands are, but it’s always good to be sure). You'll still get that same delicious, gooey, fudgy goodness—just without the gluten!
