Ingredients

  • 16 even-sized open cup mushrooms stalks cut level
  • 3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped very finely
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 5 tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs
  • tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly fry the mushrooms in hot oil, cap-side down. For 2-3 minutes. Until they begin to soften.
  2. Place the mushrooms in a 9x13 baking dish. With the stalks facing upwards.
  3. In a small bowl, blend softened butter, garlic, thyme, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spoon the garlic butter mixture onto each mushroom. Then press the breadcrumbs on top.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Or until the breadcrumbs are golden. And the mushrooms are tender. Serve hot.
