Ingredients

  • 6 4 oz links sweet Italian sausage
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion sliced
  • 1/2 medium red onion sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 c white wine or more to taste

Instructions
 

  1. Brown the Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage links until browned on all sides. About 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and slice them up.
  2. Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the sliced yellow and red onions. And minced garlic. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes. Until the onions start to soften.
  3. Add Peppers and Seasonings: Toss in the red and green bell peppers. Sprinkle with dried basil and oregano. Pour in the white wine and stir. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Until the peppers and onions are tender.
  4. Combine and Simmer: Return the sliced sausage to the skillet. Lower the heat. Cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Until everything is heated through. Add more wine if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
