6 Servings

Ingredients

  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • cup dark brown sugar firmly packed
  • 3 tablespoons freshly minced garlic
  • 12 slices bacon
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the oven and baking dish

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Create the seasoning mixture

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir until thoroughly blended.

Season the chicken

  1. Coat each chicken breast with the brown sugar and garlic mixture, ensuring even coverage on all sides.

Wrap with bacon

  1. Wrap each chicken breast with two slices of uncooked bacon, securing the ends underneath the chicken to prevent unraveling during baking. Arrange the wrapped chicken in the prepared baking dish.

Add the remaining sugar mixture

  1. Sprinkle any leftover brown sugar and garlic mixture over the tops of the chicken breasts.

Bake

  1. Transfer the baking dish to the oven. Bake for 25–30 minutes, checking at 20 minutes and again at 25 minutes to avoid overcooking. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), with the bacon crisp and the sugar caramelized.

Serve

  1. Allow the chicken to rest for several minutes before serving to ensure optimal juiciness.
