Add the remaining sugar mixture

Transfer the baking dish to the oven. Bake for 25–30 minutes, checking at 20 minutes and again at 25 minutes to avoid overcooking. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), with the bacon crisp and the sugar caramelized.
