Cheesy Kilted Sausage Bites

These Cheesy Kilted Sausage Bites are a deliciously easy appetizer. Or snack. Smoky sausage is wrapped in buttery crescent dough. And stuffed with creamy cheeses. Making every bite. A savory delight. The Dijon mustard glaze. Adds a subtle tang. While the poppy seeds give a crunchy finish. Whether it’s a game day snack. Or a quick party bite. These will quickly disappear. From the table! My family loves them. And they always ask for more. Whenever I make them.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of crescent roll dough 8 oz each
  • 2 kielbasa or smoked sausages 12 oz each
  • 1 c of shredded cheese
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese
  • 2 tsp of poppy seeds

For the glaze:

  • c of melted butter
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. And prepare a large baking sheet. By lightly greasing it.
  2. Take one sheet of crescent dough. And press the seams together. To create a single, even sheet.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheese. Over the dough. Place one sausage. Along the edge of the dough (you can slice the sausage. In half if it has a curve). Roll the dough tightly. Around the sausage. And pinch the edges to seal.
  4. Repeat the process. With the second sheet. But this time spread cream cheese. Over half of the dough. Instead of shredded cheese.
  5. Cut the rolled dough. Into ¾ inch slices. And arrange them. On the baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl. Whisk together the glaze ingredients. And brush the mixture. Over the rolls. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Until the dough is golden. And crispy.
  8. Serve warm. With your favorite dipping sauces. Like ketchup or mustard.

Notes
