Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet onions peeled, halved, and thinly sliced
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter divided
  • 1/3 c mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 Chop House by Holten Angus Sirloin Steak Burgers
  • 8 slices thick cut sourdough or rye bread
  • 4 slices medium cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions
 

  1. Caramelize onions in 2 tbsp butter over medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper for the sauce.
  3. Cook burger patties in 2 tbsp butter in a cast iron skillet.
  4. Spread sauce on bread slices. Assemble sandwiches with onions, patties, cheddar, and Swiss cheese.
  5. Toast sandwiches in 2 tbsp butter in a skillet until golden brown, flipping once.
