Butterscotch Drops

A quick and easy no-bake treat made with butterscotch morsels, creamy peanut butter, and crispy corn flakes. Perfect for snacking or sharing.
Servings

Ingredients

  • 1⅔ cups one 11 oz bag butterscotch flavored morsels
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • cups corn flakes cereal

Instructions

Prepare Baking Sheets:

  1. Line one or two baking sheets with waxed paper or parchment paper. Set aside for later use.

Melt Butterscotch Morsels:

  1. In a large microwave-safe mixing bowl, place the butterscotch morsels. Heat uncovered in the microwave on medium-high power for approximately 1 minute. Stir until the morsels begin to melt. If needed, continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.

Incorporate Peanut Butter:

  1. Add the creamy peanut butter to the melted butterscotch and stir until fully blended and smooth.

Add Corn Flakes:

  1. Gently fold in the corn flakes, stirring carefully to evenly coat all flakes without crushing them excessively.

Form the Drops:

  1. Using a rounded tablespoon or small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets. Allow space between each drop.

Chill to Set:

  1. Refrigerate the drops for approximately 20 minutes, or until they are firm to the touch.

Store Properly:

  1. Once set, transfer the drops to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

To make this recipe gluten-free, ensure that the corn flakes cereal used is certified gluten-free, as many traditional brands may contain malt flavoring derived from barley. Additionally, confirm that both the butterscotch morsels and peanut butter are labeled gluten-free to avoid cross-contamination or hidden sources of gluten. No other modifications are required.
