Instructions
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
Prepare the Apples
Cut the apples vertically into ½-inch slices and carefully core the center of each slice to create a ring. Coat each apple ring evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Wrap with Puff Pastry
Cut the puff pastry sheets into 1-inch strips. Wrap each apple ring by threading a strip through the center and around the outer edge until fully covered. If necessary, use a second strip to ensure the apple is completely encased. Place the prepared rings on the lined baking sheet.
Bake the Pastry
Brush the tops of each pastry-wrapped apple ring with the beaten egg. Sprinkle lightly with the remaining cinnamon sugar. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
Prepare the Glaze
While the pastries cool slightly, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding a few drops of milk if thinner glaze is desired.
Finish and Serve
Allow the Apple Ring-Arounds to cool for several minutes before drizzling with the prepared glaze. Serve warm or at room temperature.
