Air Fryer Onion Rings

In the inviting corner of a well-loved kitchen the wonders of air frying work their magic to create these delectable Onion Rings. With their crispy panko coating, each ring offers a blend of garlic and onion flavors that deliver a crunch bringing joy to the soul. Accompanied by a tangy tartar sauce it serves as a comforting reminder of the simple joys and cherished memories made around the dining table.

Ingredients

  • c panko bread crumbs
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ heaping tsp sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ c all-purpose flour
  • 1 yellow onion sliced into ½-inch rings
  • Extra-virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • Tartar Sauce optional, for dipping

Instructions
 

  1. Start by combining panko, garlic powder, onion powder and salt on a rimmed tray.
  2. In a bowl whisk the eggs. In another bowl place the flour.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F.
  4. Coat the onion rings, with flour dip them in the beaten eggs and then cover them with the panko mixture.
  5. Drizzle some olive oil over them.
  6. Air fry them in a single layer, for 8 to 11 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  7. If desired serve them with tartar sauce.

Notes

To make this recipe fit for a gluten-free diet just replace the all-purpose flour with your favored gluten-free flour mix. Make sure to use panko bread crumbs that are approved as gluten-free. You can find brands of gluten-free panko, in the market. As always recollect to check all ingredient labels to make sure there are no additives that contain gluten and take safeguards to prevent cross-contamination during preparation.
