Air Fryer Butternut Squash Recipe

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Golden, tender butternut squash cubes seasoned with garlic, paprika, and onion powder, crisped to perfection in the air fryer for a quick, healthy side dish.
4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 medium butternut squash peeled, seeded, and cubed (approximately 4 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Squash

  1. Peel the butternut squash, remove the seeds, and cut into evenly sized cubes, approximately ½ to 1 inch each, to ensure uniform cooking.

Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat fully before cooking the squash.

Season the Squash

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, sweet paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the squash cubes and toss thoroughly until all pieces are evenly coated.

Air Fry the Squash

  1. Arrange the seasoned squash cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Some light overlapping is acceptable, but avoid overcrowding. Cook in batches if necessary.

Cook and Shake

  1. Cook the squash for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket every 3–4 minutes to ensure even browning. Continue until the cubes are golden brown and tender when pierced with a fork.

Serve

  1. Transfer the cooked squash to a serving dish and serve hot as a side to your preferred main course.
