2 tbsp sugar

1/2 c butter, melted

6 oz cream cheese, softened

2/3 c powdered sugar

2/3 c whipped topping

1/2 tsp vanilla

For key lime layer:

2 tbsp cornstarch

3/4 c key lime juice

3/4 c sugar

4 egg yolks, slightly beaten

5 tbsp butter

green food coloring, optional

1 1/2 c whipped topping

For topping:

1 c whipped topping

1/3 c nuts, chopped


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350Β°F and grease a 9Γ—9-inch baking dish.

Mix crust ingredients until crumbly, press into a dish, and bake for 20 minutes. Cool completely.

Blend cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping and vanilla. Spread over cooled crust and chill.

In a saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch. Stir in key lime juice and egg yolks. Add butter and simmer, stirring constantly, until thick. Cool for 2 hours.

Mix cooled custard with green food coloring (optional) and whipped topping. Spread over the cheesecake layer.

Top with whipped topping and chopped nuts. Chill for 4-5 hours or freeze before serving.
