Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs of ground chuck

1 tbsp of olive oil

1 tbsp of unsalted butter

1/2 a sweet yellow onion, finely diced

Kosher salt, to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1/2 tsp of onion powder

1/2 tsp of garlic powder

4 slices of American cheese, or your preferred cheese

16.3 oz. of Pillsbury Original Crescent Rounds

Ketchup, to taste

Yellow mustard, to taste

Dill pickle relish, optional

4 tbsp of melted salted butter

Flake sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried parsley, for garnish


Instructions

Position the oven rack. In the middle. And preheat the oven to 375Β°F. Prepare a large, rimmed baking sheet. By lining it with parchment paper.

In a large skillet. Over medium heat. Brown the ground chuck. Breaking it up. As it cooks. Once browned, drain the excess fat. By transferring the beef. To a plate lined with paper towels.

Using the same skillet. SautΓ© the diced onion. Until it becomes soft. And translucent. Add the drained beef back to the skillet. Along with the salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir well. And cook for an additional minute. Before removing from heat.

On a lightly floured surface. Separate the Crescent Rounds. And roll each piece. Into a 6-inch circle.

Place about 1/4 cup of the beef mixture. In the center of each dough round. Leaving about a 1/2-inch border. Around the edges. Drizzle the beef with ketchup, and mustard. And pickle relish if desired. Add half a piece of American cheese on top.

To form the hand pies. Bring the edges of the dough together in thirds from the base. Pinching the dough. At the top to seal. This will create. A slightly triangular shape. Place the assembled hand pies. On the prepared baking sheet.

Brush each hand pie. With melted butter. Then sprinkle with flake sea salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried parsley.

Bake in the preheated oven. For 20-30 minutes. Or until the pies are golden brown.

Allow them to cool. For about 5 minutes before serving.
