Creamy Pasta with Asparagus & Bacon

Description

In the kitchen picture a plate of bow-tie pasta coming to life. Each piece is lovingly coated in a velvety sauce that exudes the aroma of garlic and tangy Parmesan. The vibrant asparagus, with its crunch and freshness, gracefully mingles with the pasta while the bacon adds whispers of smokiness and complexity. This isn’t a meal; it’s a blend of flavors and textures a comforting hug, after a tiring day and a celebration of the delightful Italian dishes cooked at home.

Ingredients

Scale

4 oz. farfalle (bow tie) pasta

2 tbsp. unsalted butter

1 garlic clove, minced to perfection

1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp. chicken soup base

2/3 cup rich heavy cream

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, as per your liking

6 slender asparagus spears, cut diagonally into 2-inch pieces and blanched

3 crispy bacon strips, crumbled

2 tbsp. golden toasted pine nuts

1 tbsp. fresh parsley, finely chopped

A dash of Parmesan cheese for that extra garnish

Instructions

Start by cooking the bow-tie pasta according to the instructions, on the packet.

Next, melt some butter in a skillet. Sauté the garlic for a minute.

After that add Parmesan cheese and soup base to the skillet followed by the heavy cream. Season it with salt and pepper.

Once done add the pasta to the sauce. Toss it well to ensure every bit is coated.

Then incorporate blanched asparagus into the mixture.

To finish off sprinkle bacon, pine nuts, parsley and extra Parmesan, on top.

Serve this delicious dish hot. Savor its flavors!

Notes

To make this scrumptious dish fit, for those who observe a gluten-free diet you can make the following adjustments:

Pasta: Consider using a variety of pasta that is particularly labeled as gluten-free. There are options in the market such as rice, corn, quinoa or blends of alternative flours. Always recollect to check the ingredients list.

Chicken Soup Base: Be conscious that certain soup bases might hold gluten as a thickening agent or flavor enhancer. Take a moment to scan the ingredient list and if needed try to find brands that are explicitly marked as gluten-free. Alternatively, you can use a chicken broth instead.

Lastly, always keep in mind the sensitivities of those you are serving. Some individuals who have celiac disease or severe intolerance to gluten may experience reactions even with diminutive specks of gluten present.
