1 pound ground beef

1/4 c chopped onion

1/2 to 1 tbsp yellow mustard

1/2 c ketchup

1/4 c brown sugar

1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

10–12 slices Texas toast bread

6 tbsp butter, softened

3–4 c shredded cheese (or more if needed)


Instructions

Cook the Beef: Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain the grease.

Add the Sauce: Stir in mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Prep the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of Texas toast.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Place a slice of bread, butter side down, on a preheated griddle or skillet. Add cheese, beef mixture, more cheese, and top with another slice of bread, butter side up.

Cook to Perfection: Cook the sandwiches over medium heat until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted.
