Description

Melt-in-your-mouth Beef Tips in a mouthwatering onion and mushroom sauce. This recipe is seriously the simplest and one of the best slow cooker dishes you’ll ever make!

Ingredients

Scale

2 cans cream of mushroom soup

2 1/2 to 3 lbs stew beef (beef for stew, sirloin, tenderloin)

1 packet dry onion soup mix (1-ounce packet)

salt and pepper to taste

1 c. water

Optional:

1/4 c. red wine (replace water with wine for a total of 3/4 c. water, 1/4 c. wine)

8 oz. mushrooms sliced (optional)

Instructions

Using non-stick cooking spray, lightly grease a slow cooker.

Brown the beef (optional).

Place the canned mushroom soup, dry onion soup, and water in a medium size bowl. Mix well until combined, then pour this over the beef tips and place the mushrooms (optional) on top. Stir well until the beef tips are evenly coated.

Cover and set to cook for 5 to 6 hours on LOW or 3 to 4 hours on HIGH. Depending on how fast/slow your cooker cooks, adjust the cooking times accordingly.

Ladle over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

Browning the meat first before throwing it in the slow cooker adds wonderful flavor.

Mushrooms and wine are optional but recommended for amazing flavor.

You are welcome to use homemade condensed cream of mushroom soup, using an equal amount.

You can also throw together homemade dry onion soup mix.
